Burr Betts

Formerly a biology professor for 30 years at Eastern Oregon University, Burr is enjoying a new career as a travel consultant where he can put his extensive travel experience to work helping others enjoy the pleasures of tourism. He’s a fan of ecotourism, especially when trips include cultural aspects as well. He’s taken trips of this type to Kenya and Tanzania; Belize and Tikal, Guatemala; and the upper Amazon River in Peru. As a post-doctoral graduate student, he and his family drove through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua to Costa Rica where they lived for a year. On other international trips, he has visited Poland, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Australia, and Micronesia. Domestically, he’s traveled to all 50 states.
